Brian Sicknick served as an officer with the US Capitol Police (USCP). Sandra Garza, the widow of former US president Donald Trump, is suing him for the murder of her husband Brian Sicknick.
On January 7, 2021, Brian Sicknick passed away after two strokes the day after he reacted to an assault on the US Capitol.
Sicknick died of a stroke, according to the chief forensic pathologist for the District of Columbia. He declared his death to be natural and said that “everything that transpired had an impact on his condition.”
His last resting place was dedicated in the Capitol Rotunda on February 2, 2021, and he was interred in Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.
On March 14, Julian Khater and George Tanios were taken into custody on suspicion of, among other things, attacking the deceased officer Brian with a chemical spray.

There was insufficient evidence discovered by the forensic pathologist to support Brian’s allergy to the chemical spray.
Prosecutors revealed on April 27 that the chemical spray was indeed pepper spray, and on January 28, 2023, Kater received a seven-year jail term.
Michael Sicknick Case Specifics
On January 6, 2021, during the assault on the US Capitol, the late officer was working with the Capitol Police outside the west side of the building.
At 2:23 p.m., protestors made an effort to break through the police barrier created by bicycle rack obstacles. Brian and the other cops were pepper sprayed at the same moment, making it impossible for them to carry out their jobs for around twenty minutes.
Five minutes after the pepper spray assault, rioters broke through the police barrier and took over the west side of the building while Sicknick retreated, crouched, and cleaned his face with water.
After the disturbance on Wednesday night, he texted his brother to let him know that he had been pepper sprayed twice and was doing OK.
Around ten o’clock at night, Sicknick passed out in the Capitol and was transferred to a nearby hospital. On January 7, 2021, after being in the hospital for about a day, Brian passed away at approximately 9:30 p.m.
